DJ Hands Solo – STAR WARS in the DJ Booth

It is always a pleasure to enjoy his performance, as Hands Solo is, besides one of our favourite guests, one of the best artists in Switzerland! His career is amazing, as he toured Asia seven times and headlined in the best clubs of New York, Tokio, Berlin, Shanghai, Hong Kong or Barcelona.

His open format, versatile, style was enjoyed all over the globe, from the sandy beaches of Miami to St. Moritz snowy mountain tops. He played at parties for international brands like Moet & Chandon, BMW, Heineken or Nike.
In 2011 he received the award for Best Open Format DJ at the Swiss Nightlife Awards, as he was among the Top 3 since the introduction of the awards.

In the interview for our blog he speaks about himself and his passions, as we are looking forward to his next shows in Fratelli!

What are a few things that could define you in one phrase?

I like to think of myself as a passionate, ambitious, dedicated, handsome Habibi with a good sense of humor and the heart at the right place!

When did you started as a DJ? What made you choose this as a career ?

It started 16 years ago as a hobby and I never wanted to pursue it professionally, but things kind of fell in place after university.

What is your most amazing experience / peak of your career as a DJ?

Just being able to do what I love doing for a living, that’s the greatest blessing of all. Plus I love to travel and meet new people in foreign countries.

What do you like to do in your free time? Hobbies?

Music is my passion, so my work and my free time are basically the same. But I like to travel, eat, hang out with friends, or shop. I’m interested in a lot of different things. Ranging from history and ancient cultures to architecture to nature and economy. I’m basically interested in what’s going on in the world.

Witch are your favorite top 5 tracks or first five good songs you think about?

I could never limit it to 5 songs, but if I have to I’d go with:

Notorious B.I.G. – Sky’s The Limit
Jeremih – Late Nights
Isaac Hayes – Look Of Love
A Tribe Called Quest – Electric Relaxation
Daft Punk – Voyager

With whom did you worked in the past and with whom do you wanna work?

I played with some big artists on stage or opened up for them, but when it comes to studio work I don’t care who the artist is as long as the product turns out great and we have a great chemistry.

What are some of the best venues / clubs / parties that you played at?

My favourite Club is M1NT in Shanghai, one of the most exclusive spots I’ve ever been to. But I also loved Miami, Tokyo, Singapore, Barcelona, Berlin and of course Fratelli, which is definitely one of the best spots in Europe.

What is the motto that guides you in your work?

Just be true to yourself, be humble, thankful and treat people like you want to be treated. Karma is a bitch at the end of the day ; )

Say something nice
